Headaches: ColorsSource: The Institute for Color Research Red: Historical associations are power, courage, emotions. The mental responses to red are increased pulse rate, excitation.Pink: Historical associations are sweetness, high fashion. The mental responses to pink are sense of well-being, reduces anger. Orange: Historical associations are luxury, rarity. The mental responses to orange are increased energy and sureness of being. Yellow: Historical associations are intellect, joy, sun. The mental responses to yellow is increased attention, sense of discomfort. Brown: Historical associations are earth, wood, food, fur. The mental responses to brown are security and feeling welcome. Green: Historical associations are marriage, wealth, Islam, life. The mental response to green is a restfulness to the eye. Blue: Historical associations are the best or highest, sky. The mental responses to blue are calmness and relaxation. Purple: Historical associations are royalty, divinity, women, love, wisdom. The mental responses to purple are empowerment and safety. EnergyMost of us have heard how gemstones have "energy." This is NOT myth. However, how effective and to what degree these energies can be defined, that's another story. But, there are no doubts as to conductivity...and humans, like all living things, are really a bunch of atoms bouncing around and responding to other energies around it. Suffice it to say, for example, that silver has the highest conductivity of all metals. It draws energy (negative and positive fields indiscriminately) and, unlike gems, does little to convert (refract that energy). Tourmaline, on the other hand, becomes "pyroelectric" when heated. If you're wearing it, and you get excited or stressed, it literally takes your energy and draws heat out of the body, some say creating a little field around you. Quartz varieties, such as Amethyst and Citrine, do this as well. Amber will also produce a slight field, but it will not draw heat away from the body. (Imagine that, before science could prove data, ancient peoples actually felt the properties of certain gemstones, and, so, the myths born actually have some scientific foundation.) |
